I discovered the IM=X Reformer many years ago, as a member and then as an owner. I have a very bad back and neck, and had fallen out-of-shape – then I found the IM=X workout. The IM=X Reformer transformed my back/neck/core and entire body & I was hooked. I train the same way as I like to be trained - to be challenged! I consider myself incredibly lucky to have such an amazing team and also such wonderful members! Random fact? I was ‘THE BEST’ COW TIPPER out of my entire High School Class…and I was a competitive pianist for almost 10 years.

I started dancing at the age of 4 and the rest is history! When I began my professional ballet career I was introduced to Pilates as a form of cross training and loved it! I am the Owner and Artistic Director of Shoreline Ballet in Guilford. The wonderful thing about Pilates and Ballet is their similarities. Ballet is a very disciplined art form where the body needs to be in perfect alignment in order to execute certain steps. It is a full mind and body experience. I bring my knowledge of the body into my classes and creatively plan a class to work the entire body not just one particular muscle set. Random fact? I love to sew.

I was a Pilates enthusiast for many years. I loved the transformation it was making in my body; discovering that my bulked-up ‘ gym ‘ muscles were becoming longer and leaner with no injuries. Then the gym I was working at said they would certify some of their exercise instructors in IMX=Pilates and I jumped at the chance ! It’s been 8 years that I have been a trainer enlightening others to the benefits of IMX=Pilates and I never looked back. Favorite artist? "Anyone who can get this girl on the dance floor !" Random fact? I can’t swim and…a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity I cheerlead for the N.Y. Giants…

I am new to fitness instruction, after recently changing careers. I have always been someone who loves working out and playing sports. Growing up, I primarily played soccer, including Division 1 in college, and then coaching girls JV soccer at Haddam Killingworth. When I moved to Madison, I joined Shoreline IM=X, and fell in love with the studio and classes. I now like to teach classes that I would want to take: challenging, sweaty, and rewarding. Random Fact? I have 2 kids that love the studio as much as I do, and you will often see them hanging out in the lobby.

I graduated URI with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Athletic Training. I traveled with all sports teams treating pre and post performance needs for injured athletes. I was the first woman allowed in the Football Field House to tape ankles for our champion team!! I was recruited to teach Group Exercise and I have been teaching fitness ever since. I currently do fitness full time, instructing classes, personal training, and managing 3 gyms. Random fact? I was put on this Earth to help others achieve their full potential of health and success.

I've always been one of those people that love to workout ....teaching spin, TRX, and Bootcamp style classes is something I truly enjoy! I like to instruct a workout that I, as a member, would want to take!! My first class at IMX was in the original building, and my introduction class was with Audra! Needless to say, I was hooked!!! Random Fact? "I've been known to be able to polish off a half gallon of Publix brand Chocolate Trinity ice cream in a single sitting....(more than once)...#becauseIcan"

My fitness journey began my first year of College when I took a Step Class. I loved the Instructor, I kept going back to her classes. After couple of months of taking her classes and seeing transformation in my body and others in class, it inspired me to become a certified Step & Aerobic Instructor. I continued to add other certifications under my belt, Yoga Ball, Spinning & most recently IM=X Pilates. Favorite Music? "Awww...so many of them! U2, Shakira, Pitbull, Pink, JLo, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Ricky Martin, Mark Anthony, Bon Jovi, Madonna...these are just to name a few!"

Patrick O'Neill

I've worked in fitness as an instructor since 2012, but I am a professional dancer by trade and so have been a part of the fitness world (i.e. Yoga, Pilates, group fitness classes) all my life. My Favorite Fitness Advice? "Hydration is key!" I always tell my clients to drink lots of water. Not only does your body need water to properly function, but it also helps with muscle soreness and fatigue, it makes your skin brighter and healthier, and it helps flush unwanted toxins from your body. " Random fact? I am a Type 1 diabetic. My diagnosis used to bring me down, but I've realized that it's a part of who I am. It's part of my journey and it's not going to hold me back or slow me down!

I've worked at IM=X Shoreline, since 2015. My fitness journey began when I decided I did not want to be overweight any longer and needed to take control of my life. I became a spinning instructor after enjoying a spin class on a cruise ship. To date, I've done one full marathon and multiple half marathons. Random Fact? "I love to cook & I wish I pursued culinary school"

I have loved working out my entire life & tried EVERY workout that exists. I came across Barre (which brought back childhood memories of ballet !) & was hooked as a student. I quickly saw positive physical changes & my instructor encouraged me to get my certification in 2013. Random Fact? "I have been struck by lighting,whilst in my car in traffic ,on the way back from Key West."

My own fitness instructor journey began in the 90s. I was obsessed with aerobics and working out so much that people would come up to me in the gym & ask questions so I figured I should get paid for it! I have been personally fitness coaching for over 20 years. Currently living in Old Saybrook, CT with partner Paul & dog Stella. I love to hike, bike, cook & binge watch Game of Thrones & Homeland. Favorite Music? "Love current pop and r&b/dance music. Guilty pleasure is Justin Timberlake or Justin Bieber. You would know that if you've taken my spin class!" Random Fact? I am the Rain Man of movie and music trivia. Ask me anything!”

I decided to become a fitness instructor, both group and Pilates, after making a decision to leave the medical billing field. After 15 years, I needed a change and I love going to the gym to workout, loved the results of my workouts and knew Pilates helped me workout hard without hurting myself. Random fact? "I will always approach a person with a dog. I don't actually talk to the person, but will ask if the dog is friendly then immediately start talking to the dog."

I’ve always had a fire for athletics & fitness staying active with competitive soccer and track throughout my child & adulthood. I competed at the NCAA Division 1 Track & Field level accepting a scholarship to the University of Wyoming for long and triple jump. After four years of collegiate high intensity sprint workouts, plyometrics, weight training, bounding, leaping, jumping, and landing in a sand pit, my then 22 year old body was ready for a break. That’s when I found mindbody fitness! I started talking barre and yoga classes and that naturally turned into an opportunity to certify & teach! 8 years later and 10 certifications…. Here I am! Random Fact? I’ve never broken a bone!

I have always been active, but beginning 20 years or so ago, I began to better understand the need for proper diet and exercise to maintain mental and physical health. More recently, due to influence or my wife (and fellow IM=X instructor Tracy), I began to teach classes and help others reach their fitness goals. My wife, Sue Nelson, is also a fitness instructor and personal trainer. We live in Ivoryton. I have worked in the financial services industry for many years, and currently serve as Chief Operating Officer with a well-known local wealth management firm.
